It’s Christmas, 1998, and the local school is hosting its end of term Disco. However, a mix-up at the nearby naval base means the ‘secret santa’ gift giving is about to go very, very wrong…. You have 60 minutes to get in, swap the gifts, and dance your way out before the kids arrive and you’re discovered!

Hosting
We’re grateful for Exciting Escapes for giving us lots of enjoyable rooms throughout the years, but at this stage, it’s starting to feel like they’re happy to start winding down productions (and understandably so!). The hosts are always pleasant, though immersive live action isn’t this company’s forte.
Theming
As 90s children, this room gets full marks for nostalgia; it was peppered with pop‑culture references, including the Teletubbies — what a time to be alive! The fact that you’re in a school during their Christmas disco while trying to retrieve top‑secret naval documents did feel a little convoluted, but the room was so much fun that it didn’t matter.
Puzzling
The puzzles were varied enough, and even when they weren’t perfect, the fun factor still shone through. One puzzle had us dancing, another had us singing, and one had us wandering aimlessly around with a Tinky-Winky toy – utterly ridiculous, and we fully approved.
Thanks again to Exciting Escapes for another fun hour locked in a room!
