Hosting
From the moment we arrived, Clue Cracker made an excellent impression. They opened up for us especially, and Georgia gave us a warm and enthusiastic welcome, with plenty of personality. The banter continued throughout the room via Boris the Monkey (the clue system), which really fit the tone. We also appreciated the chance to chat afterwards, particularly after a room that had given us so many moments to talk about!
Theming
Temple Quest is a playful adventure that never takes itself too seriously, but this room totally committed to the theme, with sand, temple walls and everything else you’d expect. There is a fantastic sense of exploration, with passages, hidden areas and physical elements making each new discovery feel exciting. It has that wonderfully silly Jungle Run energy, including one transition that left Nel giggling like a child. There is a brief bit of separation before being brought back together for a climactic finale.
Puzzling
The puzzles were the real highlight, with a really broad mixture of traditional problem solving and much more physical challenges. The game had some of the best flow we’ve ever experienced and we always understood where to focus our attention next. We finished the room with no hints, which is a testament to the room design more than our skills!
This is an easy 6 star room for us. We went in looking for the Golden Monkey idols, but the real treasure turned out to be the room itself. This one is absolutely worth its weight in gold!
