We were so excited to see that this venue was literally opposite our hotel when we arrived in Las Vegas (so yes, we visited multiple times), and the staff were super friendly in explaining the rooms to us and finding times to squeeze us in. The preamble was perfectly fine, but I would love to see the staff leaning into character a little more (though I appreciate not everyone likes to perform!). Having said that, they were super enthusiastic in talking us through the puzzles after we escaped and explaining some of the behind the scenes magic. We were also pleased to top the monthly leaderboard!
Theming
The theming of this apocalyptic wasteland was spot on, from a broken down truck, to traveling marauders who would try and hunt you down if you made too much noise. So naturally, there were tons of puzzles and traps that were deliberately noisy, forcing us to hide again and again! The room was dimly lit, but with enough light that it never became a problem. The immersion was spot-on, giving that ‘video game come to life’ feeling from start to finish.
Puzzling
The puzzles here all seemed super intuitive, and fit in well with the theme. Lots of searching which we love and a clear direction of what to do, when and why. We accidentally skipped one puzzle that we hadn’t realised was a puzzle, so perhaps that could’ve been signposted more clearly. All in all, this was a really fun room that flowed pretty seamlessly.
There are a range of Red Door locations across the states so do check out their website for your next visit.
