The setup is simple: break into a house and find that hidden ruby. Hosting-wise, it felt more like a games café than a dedicated escape venue. The team were pleasant enough, but it was fairly low on energy, although still friendly. Theming is very traditional: compact space, classic props, and its showing its age. We even came across some broken glass which was disappointing! That said, the puzzles were better than expected. Logical, varied, and a reminder that solid design doesn’t need flashy tech. There were moments of unclear feedback, a few too many red herrings and an ending that wasn’t super clear, But we came out feeling pleasantly surprised. The Ruby is showing its age, but underneath is a solid little room with enjoyable puzzles. With a bit of TLC, it could shine again.
