Hosting
We made a last‑minute booking for the final slot of the day: a host’s worst nightmare. Fortunately, our host Winter was brimming with energy and enthusiasm, giving us the perfect welcome to our first Knockout Escapes room. She quickly transformed from friendly host to Southern American sheriff, explaining that we needed to enter the cabin, uncover its secrets, and avoid getting trapped forever by a mining explosion.
Theming
The room was unmistakably a cabin, and a wonderfully curious one at that. There was plenty to interact with and a handful of items to find. Everything was well designed and firmly on theme, which makes us excited to try more Knockout rooms in the future.
Puzzling
The puzzles were varied and intuitive. Any hints we received were entirely on us: either we weren’t looking closely enough or we weren’t making the right connections. Without giving anything away, I’d say a few puzzles rely on close inspection of the entire room, and solving them is incredibly satisfying. I’m not sure I fully followed the narrative thread by the end, but honestly, it didn’t matter. We had an absolute BLAST.
